para principiantes Kubutu(KDE) y  Ubuntu(GNOME)
pode bajarte un liveCd(1) y probarlo, sin instalar.
para editar(html,css,js,php) podes usar quanta(alternativa libre al 
dreamweaver) y kate(editor de txt)
